Why use sewer pipe plugs ?
Sewer pipe plugs are designed for interventions and leak tests of circular pipes. It is widely used in the sewerage sector.
They can be used on pipes: PVC, cement, cast iron… It also prevents accidental pollution by temporarily plugging the pipes. The inflatable pipe plug is particularly flexible and light. It is designed to retain wastewater. Rubber plugs for pipe are available with or without a by pass.
In case of presence of hydrocarbons, we recommend the GUM H range.
Range of intervention
The sewer pipe plug is expandable. It covers the range of pipes from 50 to 1500mm in only 5 plugs.
Case of use of inflatable pipe plug
- Leakage test under pressure of pipelines
- Air or water tightness tests according to EN 1610 and EN 805 standards
- Insulation of pipe sections during maintenance operations
- Flow diversion
- Blockage of the flow in the pipe
Technical characteristics of sewer pipe plug
We manufacture sewer pipe plug made of rubber-coated fabric. We vulcanize them in pressure moulds to have a homogeneous product that is resistant to waste water.
The inflatable sewer pipe plugs are equipped with a female BSP ¼ inflating tube. An inflation hose, connected either to a hand pump or a compressor, connects to it.
The by pass (optional) are equipped with a 1/2 Guillemin coupling. They are used to perform leak tests or to divert a flow.
We can also provide you with accessories for water or air tests. They fit on the by pass of our plugs.
